JIB Sports is Coming Back!!!

Monday, July 5th, 2010

We all have lofty goals in life. At certain times, some goals take precedence over others. Developing JIB Sports into a widely read and followed sports website is one goal that for me has been on the backburner the past few months. Nobody can ever put into words how the birth of a child can turn your world upside down. Even Karl Malone, with his oodles of mystery children that keep popping up, can’t quite explain this phenomenon. So, without further delay, let me come out and say that JIB Sports will be making it’s second comeback in as many years. Tiger can explain how difficult coming back is, from knee injury two years ago to injuring what we’ll call his “foot” last year. Come back August 2nd for our first of what will be weekly Monday posts. You will also be able to follow JIB Sports on facebook and Twitter. Let the “jibbing” begin again…

JIB Sports Celebrates Six Months of Fresh Sports Talk

Friday, February 6th, 2009

To all of you that have supported JIB Sports our first six months, thank you! We are still in our ”humble beginnings,” but our readers continue to grow. In our first six months, we already have three columns that will become seasonal regulars. From August to January, Sunday Headlines were posted, giving a rundown of the week’s college football action with predictions of game results and headlines you might see in your Sunday sports section. In that same time, Revelations from the NFL were posted, giving a recap of the previous week’s action while pointing out a few revelatory points to pay attention to in the upcoming games. Our third weekly column which started in November and will run through the July, is our NBA Monday Morning Report Card. By far our most visited column, the NBA Monday Morning Report Cards recap the previous week in the NBA and assign grades to individuals and teams. We have a fourth column, which may develop into being a regular, are our Weekly Rumors. Every sports entity has it’s ears out there to hear the newest rumors in sports and be the first to break news of them. We have our own ears and thus have our own rumors, but just like every rumor, don’t ask for a source.

While we are pleased with our growth and readership, we are not content. We want to reach out to more readers and get the ones we have more involved. We want to hear your opinion as well! In an effort to create more of an online community at JIB Sports, we are going to start a fan club made of our devoted readers. We are thinking of calling our community the “Jibbers.” If you want to be a “Jibber” then please contact us here. We would like our “Jibbers” to comment on every article, start a discussion or debate if it so pleases you! As soon as we get our own logo golf balls you might see some in your mail soon, but we aren’t making any promises. Don’t be surprised if you get a sleeve of gold balls with our name written with a Sharpie on them. One last note of business, we are going to be changing our posting schedule to Mondays and Fridays for the next few months. Are you all “Jibbers?” We are!!!

Happy Turkey Day!

Thursday, November 27th, 2008

With the official start of the holiday season, there is no better way to begin then with football and gorging ourselves with food. Seeing the Dallas Cowboys paste an opponent and the Detroit Lions get pasted every Thanksgiving is getting a little monotonous though. There is something about “Turkey Bowls” that turns men (and some women) into professional football players. To an observer, we probably all look like a bunch of “Rudy’s,” (a whole lot of heart, but lacking in talent). At the end of the day, although sore, be thankful you have your tackling and stiff arming skills polished, you will need them if you participate in the early morning shopping on Friday. Happy Thanksgiving from JIB Sports! Visit us again next Monday for NBA Monday Morning Report Card: II.
